Privacy Policy

MySwimRankings is a tool for parents and coaches of competitive swimmers in England to track personal bests, qualifying times, and national rankings. It is operated as a personal project, not a commercial service.

When you create an account we collect:

• Email address — used to send your login link and identify your account.
• Swim England Membership Number — used to look up your swimmer's data on swimmingresults.org.
• Year of birth, gender, county, and region — used to calculate age group and look up the correct county and regional rankings.

We also store:

• Swimming performance data — personal bests and rankings retrieved from swimmingresults.org, which is publicly available information published by Swim England.
• Manual times — any times you choose to add yourself through the app.
• Viewer access — email addresses you add to share access with other people (e.g. a second parent or coach).

We use your data solely to operate the app — specifically to:

• Send you a magic login link when you sign in
• Fetch and display your swimmer's performance data
• Calculate qualifying status and rankings

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the service.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. Your data is stored using the following services:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider, hosted in the EU. Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — our hosting provider. Vercel Privacy Policy.

Swimming performance data is fetched from swimmingresults.org, which is a public website operated by Swim England. We do not share any of your personal information with Swim England.

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use any advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics tools. We do not track you across other websites.

We keep your data for as long as you have an active account. If you would like your account and all associated data deleted, contact us at hello@myswimrankings.com and we will remove it within 30 days.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to how we process your data.

If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

If we make significant changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. We may also notify you by email.
